Obituary of Frances Isabell McPhee

It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to Mum... Frances was born on February 13, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Dunfield. Frances married Tid McPhee on May 14, 1955. She was a wonderful mother and truly enjoyed her family. Frances liked to keep track of all of her children and wanted to know what everyone was doing. She was proud of her children and grandchildren. She raised her children to be kind and loving and to take care of each other. Frances loved to tease and liked attention but certainly did not like to be teased back. She took a great interest in her community; her community was a second family that she loved and was loved back by. Her love for her community, was felt by her giving personality. Frances would never turn away any of the children's friends throughout the years; if someone needed a place to stay, her door was open. If you needed something and she had it, she never hesitated to give it away. Frances always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed music, television, watching the Toronto Blue Jays, the Boston Bruins, playing bingo, doing puzzles, playing cards and hunting. She loved feeding the birds and planting flowers. Those who knew her, knew of the great pride she had in her flowerbeds. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many and will be sadly missed. She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Sue Drisdelle and her husband Val of Penobsquis, Patty Doody and her husband Ralph of South Branch and Jami McLaughlan and her husband Dwayne of Penobsquis; two sons: Eddie McPhee of Penosquis and Barry McPhee and his partner Marven Bradstreet of Penobsquis; two brothers: Havie Dunfield and his wife Doreen of Sussex Corner and Bryant Dunfield and his wife Laurie of Penobsquis; five grandchildren: Katlyn and her husband Jonathan Theriault of Shediac River, NB, Cole, Carter, Brody, Kyra and Parker, all of Penobsquis; as well as several nieces and nephews. Frances had several special daughters in her life, and will be fondly remembered by them, especially Paula Humphrey. Mrs. Frances Isabell (Dunfield) McPhee passed away on June 1, 2013 with family by her side at the Sussex Health Center. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by sons: Corey and Roy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). In honour of Frances' wishes, no visitation will be held. A service celebrating Frances' life will be held from Penobsquis Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 1:00pm. The family will join relatives and friends in the Church Hall for a time of fellowship following a private family interment at Cardwell Cemetery. If you are considering making a memorial donation the family has suggested the NB Heart Foundation or NB Lung Association. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
