Obituary of Bertrum Cunningham
Bertrum Cunningham was born in Sussex on August 15, 1918, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Bertha (Doucett) Cunningham and was the husband of the late Isabel (Meehan) Cunningham.
Buster served overseas during the Second World War returning home in 1945. He was a member of the 8th Hussars and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 20. He was also a past member of the Sussex Fire Department, and a past member of the New Brunswick Rangers. Buster was retired from the Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Mr. Bertrum Hugh Cunningham of Jefferies Corner, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Center on March 11, 2000 at the age of 81.
Bertrum will be remembered by two daughters; Elizabeth Tays and her husband George of Hampton, Jean Chapman and her husband George of Quispamsis; one son; Kenneth at home; three brothers; Gordon and Freda of Sussex, Murray and Vera of Sussex, Kenneth and Edith of Toronto, Ontario; seven grandchildren; Cynthia, Stephen, David and Shaunna Tays, Shannon and Kerry Chapman & Courtney Gritchley; three great grandchildren; Rachel, Andrew and Stephen Tays and also by several nieces and nephews. Bertrum was predeceased by two brothers; Sterling and Harold and a sister; Marjorie Meehan.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm .
A service celebrating Bertrum Hugh's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park.
