Mrs. Julia Esther Beach was born in Hunters Home on April 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Nada (Verrill) Wood.
She will live on in the hearts of her beloved husband Harold; her daughters: Brenda and her husband Jimmy Leck and Ginger and her husband Mike Greenough and her special grandson, Connor. Her sisters: Carol Killam and Stan Woodward and Winnifred London; her brothers: Stanley Wood and his wife Betty and Arnold Wood and his wife Nettie. She is predeceased by her infant son, Richard, her parents, Lloyd and Nada Wood, her brothers: Sherman and Carl Wood.
Julia touched a multitude of lives with her generosity never failing to help those in need. She cared for many people including her mother and father and countless friends and neighbours. Her unfailing cheerful attitude and keen sense of humor made her a joy to be around.
Julia will always be remembered for her beautiful quilts, her flower gardens and her baking. Julia was a very independant woman who worked very hard in her life to take care of her two daughters. Family meant everything to Julia and this was evident when she spoke of them. Julia worked as a waitress for many years and as a checker on road construction. She did renovation work in her own home and worked tirelessly until her health would not allow her to. She spent hours quilting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking and gardening. For fifteen years her pride and joy has been her beloved grandson Connor. She and Connor spent alot of time together and Gram so loved to be with him.
With heavy hearts the family of Julia Esther Beach (Wood) announces her passing after a long courageous battle with COPD.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held from the Coles Island Pentecostal Church on Thursday from 7-9pm.
