Joyce Marie (Hodgin) was born on March 25, 1949 in Saint John. She was the daughter of Charles and Stella (Mercer) Hodgin. Joyce was known as "Big Mama" by many. She made lifelong friends while working at Sheer Silk, Canada Packers and McCready's Pickles and while living at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. She loved to take pictures but her greatest love was for her family. Joyce will live on in the hearts of her daughter Dawn Thompson and her husband Troy of Penobsquis; her son Paul of Norton; her grandchildren Michael and Jessica; her brother Clifford Hodgin and his wife Kate of New Line; her special friend Bud Chestnut as well as several nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Craig Sanford and her sister Lois Mitton. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Dr. Sussex, (506) 433-1176, where visitation will be held on Tuesday August 16th from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.
