Powell Spence was born in Malden on November 26, 1899, he was the son of the late Siddall and Nettie (Wall) Spence and was the husband of the late Katherine (Burnham) Spence. Powell was a very avid fisherman and enjoyed singing and playing his harmonica & fiddle. He was once very involved in the United Church in Cape Tormentine. Mr. Powell Henry Spence of Sussex, passed away at his residence on December 26, 1999 at the age of 100. Powell will be remembered by his son; James and his wife Joan of New Hampshire, his step-daughters; Lorraine and her husband Peter Steiner of Montreal, & Louise Buick of Saint John, and by his step-sons; William and his wife Margaret McLeod of Wolfville, NS, George and his wife Norma McLeod of Moncton, and Robert and his wife Nancy McLeod (his special daughter) of Sussex Corner, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Powell was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Tuesday 7-9 PM . A service celebrating Powell Henry's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 29, 1999 at 10:00 am.
