Obituary of Harold Barton
Mr. Harold Wesley Barton was born in Minto on July 16, 1912, he was the son of the late Wesley and Maude (Nightingale) Barton and was the husband of the late Gladys (McMann) Barton who passed away in 1984.
Harold was a long time member of the Rothesay Baptist Church and was a retired welder. He also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Harold will live on in the hearts of his sons: Owen and his wife Carol of Harvey Bank, Weston and his wife Lilly of Hampton and Byron and his wife Louise of Tilsonberg, Ontario; his sister, Bessie Barton of Chipman; 10 grandchildren: Tammy Keiver and her husband Terry, Michael and his wife Heather, Cathy Boyd and her husband Nathan, Susan Rogers and her husband Stephen, Shari Tremblett and her husband John, Sandy Gray and her husband Greg, Nathan, Ian and his wife Cheryl, Daniel and Amoris; 19 great grandchildren: Emma, Zachary, Avery, Owen, Rachel, Rebecca, Isaaic, Jake, Scott, Madeline, Lydia, Kate, Hannah, Josiah, Aiden, Jude, Victoria, Luke and Seth; his caregivers: Brenda Kelly and her daughter, Nancy Kelly; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his infant son, his brothers: Leslie, Sterling and Thomas and by his sisters: Mildred, Lula, Lillian, Verna and Phyllis.
Mr. Harold Wesley Barton of Sussex formerly of Cumberland Bay passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on August 6, 2011 at the age of 99.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Tuesday 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A Celebration of Harold's life will be held from Cumberland Bay Baptist Church, 3 Cumberland Bay South Rd on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at the Cumberland Bay Cemetery (The Range).
A time of fellowship with the family will take place at the church immediately following the committal service.
