Obituary of Charles William Stockton

Charles was born on January 2, 1922. He was a son of the late Bryant and Louise (McLeod) Stockton and the husband of the late Peggie Mate Stockton, who passed away in 1999. Charles was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Air Force, LAC as a Leading Aircraftsman. He owned Stockton's Meats and Groceries and worked with manufactured homes until he retired. He was a member of the Fish and Game Association and the Kiwanis. He was known for his artistic abilities in painting, wood carving and sculpting as well as his love for the outdoors and gardening. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Charles is survived by his children: Susan (Peter) Brown of Cochrane, ON, Jane (Theophilus) Stockton Ampofo of Toronto, ON, and Andrew VM Stockton of Sussex: his grandchildren: Michael and Sarah Brown, Emily and Thea Ampofo, Kyla (Ryan) Muir, Sally (Derek) Parlee and Jill Stockton; great-grandchildren: Emma, Rhea and Bria Muir. Mr. Charles William Stockton of Sussex passed away on July 23rd, 2012, at home surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred and Andrew H. Stockton. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A tribute will be held by the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20 on Thursday, July 26th at 10:45am followed by visitation from 11:00am-1:00pm immediately followed by the Celebration of Charles' life. The interment will take place in Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner, NB.
