Obituary of Freda Snowden

Freda Snowden was born in Ratters Corner on June 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel (Otis) Campbell and was the wife of Thomas Snowden. Freda was a life member of the Ladies Auxillary Branch #20, Royal Canadian Legion, a member of St. Paul's United Church for over 55 years, and a member of St. Paul's United Church Session, she was a member of the Sussex Golf and Curling Club, and Enjoyed Gardening, Bowling, Shuffleboard, and Horseshoes and was retired from Sharpe's Drug Store. Mrs. Freda June Snowden of Picadilly, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 15, 1999 at the age of 68. Born in Ratters Corner on June 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel (Otis) Campbell and was the wife of Thomas Snowden. Freda will be remembered by her husband; Thomas; daughter; Sharon Landry of Sussex Corner; two sons; Raleigh Myers and his wife Betty of Mt. Hebron, Peter Myers of Sussex; two stepsons; Robert Snowden of Victoria, BC, Rick Snowden of Toronto; two step daughters; Lynn Snowden of Toronto, Anne Snowden of St. Catherines, Ont; two sisters; Hazel Mercer of Ratters Corner, Helen Proctor of Sussex; sister-in-laws; Lauretta Campbell, Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Dorothy Campbell, Poodiac, Annie Johnson, Dorothy Campbell both of Norton; brother-in-law; Bill Snowden and his wife Muriel of Formby, Lancashire; nine grandchildren; Scott and Graham Snowden, Scott and Jeff Landry, Shelley Vail, Stacey Adair, Shannon Myers, David Myers and Christiana Myers; five great grandchildren; Lauren, Amy and Ashley Vail, Colten and Paige Adair, also by several nieces and nephews. Freda was predeceased by seven brothers; Douglas, Murray, Ralph, Vernon, Melbourne, Ora, and Norman. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Freda's life will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Sunday, April 18, 1999 at 2:30 pm. The interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
