Obituary of Gordon Bickford

Gordon Bickford was born in Norton on June 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Richie and Mary Grace (Pollock) Bickford and was the husband of the late Joyce (Crawford) Bickford. Gordon attended St. John's United Church, St. Paul's United Church and Faith Bible Baptist Church. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20, a member of L.O.L. # 124 of the Orange Lodge, a Past President of the Kings East PC Association and the Sussex Fish and Game Assoc. He was a Carpenter by trade and for a number of years he was an assistant manager of plant for the Saint John School Board District 8, where he inspected various construction sites and projects. Mr. Gordon Allan Bickford of Sussex, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, 433-3118 on January 5, 1999 at the age of 64. Gordon will be remembered by his daughter;l Stephanie Bickford-Parent and her husband Jacques of Quispamsis; son; Shawn of Sussex; six brothers; Harry and his wife Sheila of Vancouver, BC, Lawrence and his wife Betty of Carberry, Manitoba, George of New Guinea, Ralph of Ottawa, Donnie and his wife Flora of Kingston Peninsula, Murray and his wife Clara of Nauwigewauk; three sisters; Elsie Friars of Sussex, Mildred Rossetto of Saint John, Barb Thurrott and her husband Lee of Riverview, NB; also by several nieces and nephews. Gordon was predeceased by two sisters; Dorothy and Blanche. The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A service celebrating Gordon Allan's life will be held from St. Paul's United Church on Friday, January 8, 1999 at 2:00 pm.
