Obituary of Murray Whitters
Murray Whitters was born in Sussex on May 4, 1928; he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Hourihan) Whitters. As a youth Murray worked on the railroad and served overseas in the Canadian Army. After returning from overseas he became a painter. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier RC Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20.
Murray will be lovingly remembered by his sisters: Ann Sharp of Sussex Corner and Bonnie Huggard and her husband Neville (Nev) of Sussex, three brothers: Fred Whitters and his wife Diane of Sussex, Frank Whitters and his wife Therese of St. Stephen and Ed Whitters and his wife Dorie of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Joseph Albert Murray Whitters of Crow's Nest Lane North End, Saint John passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 14, 2013 at the age of 85. He is predeceased by his brother John and by his sisters Mary Doyle and Theresa Connors
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) on Friday from 6-8pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Francis Xavier on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 am. The interment will take place at Wards Creek.
There will be a reception with the family in the Church Hall immediately following the service.
