Obituary of Yvonne Carr

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Yvonne Jane Carr who passed away February 21, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Yvonne was born on March 15, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Doiron) Gallant and the wife of the late Paul Carr who passed away in 2000. Yvonne. A wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a lady who truly understood what was important in life. Family and friends are what she cherished and they always came first. Wherever she made her home, she made sure that visitors were comfortable. If you were visiting for more than a few minutes, she would make sure you had a cup of coffee in your hand and something home cooked to eat. The simple pleasures were the ones she enjoyed the most. She loved to cook festive meals with all the fixings and she enjoyed handing out bottles of homemade jelly. Scrabble and crib were a few games that she could play for hours and for many years you could often find her at a local bowling league where she would shout with excitement whenever she was close to getting a strike. She had a keen eye and a callus on her thumb from the many crafts, paintings, and quilts she had made over the years. If she wasn't making you at home, she was making things to help you feel at home. Her demeanor was quiet and understated, but her smile always shined through because true to her spirit, she wanted to bring comfort and a smile to you. Yvonne was a loving person who was very proud of her family. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family but especially the grand children and the great grandchildren. Her time spent with her brothers and her sister made great memories for her and she loved them all dearly. Yvonne loved flowers, crafts, knitting and painting. She also enjoyed being on the computer and loved to Skype everyday with her family. Yvonne was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will remain in the hearts of those who loved her. Yvonne leaves behind her daughter Deborah Moazemi and her husband Bobby of Abbotsford, BC and her son David Carr and Shauna Vanderveen of Edmonton, AB; her companion Ken Klassen of Highfield; her sister Katherine Parlee and her husband Milford of Sussex Corner; her brothers: James Gallant and his wife Sandra of Brampton, ON, Austin Gallant of Sussex, Walter Gallant and his wife Linda of Sussex and Lester Gallant and his wife Barbara of Anagance; grandchildren: Madyson, Andrea and Aaron; great grandchildren: Abbie and Chloe as well as several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176 where family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 24th from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
