I worked with Peter in Lawtons Drug Store from 1978 - 1981 and both Marc and I have maintained a friendship with Peter and Cori since that time. We just recently had a nice visit with Peter discussing his plans for retirement and of course his children and grand-daughter which always brought a twinkle to his eye, he was so very proud of each of you. Peter, I am at a loss of words on your sudden passing. I was excited for you to finally be able to enjoy the excitement of retirement and the great plans that you had. It is with great saddness that I hear of Peter's passing. I always enjoyed meeting with Peter at Shopper's Drug Mart. I frequently wondered if he had a cot behind the pharmacy as he always seemed to be there. I appreciated him as a professional and as a man who had great compassion for humanity. As Charter President of the Rotary Club of Sussex,I send condolences to the family of Peter Haines. Peter became a member shortly after moving to Sussex ,and has served the club faithfully for many years. I have had a special rapport with Peter over that time and also in the store. I will truly miss him. Just last week he told me about his plans for retirement, his upcoming trip to Florida, his visits to family members, and his work on the old farm in Havelock.
