Doreen was born in Saint John on May 3rd, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Lillian (Kennedy) McQueen and her step father George McQueen, as well as the wife of the late Earl A. Harvey, who passed away on June 8, 2003. Doreen loved her family and her Church, she was a retired care giver from the Kiwanis Nursing Home and was a charter member of Faith Bible Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and would spend countless hours creating beautiful quilts. Doreen will live on in the hearts of her four daughters: Judy Connolly and her husband Mike of Maugerville, NB, Jessie McLaughlin and her husband David of Plumweseep, NB, Earlene Titus and her husband Wayne of Geary, NB, Patricia Thornhill and her husband Randy of Sussex, NB; ten grandchildren: Anita Connolly, Timothy Connolly and his wife Heather, Matthew Connolly and his wife Margaux, Tiffany Thornhill and her husband Dan McDevit, Tempest Thornhill and Adam Fulton,Thomas, Hannah and Josiah Titus, Brianna and Isaiah Harvey; five great grandchildren: Tara, Abbey, Michael, Lea and Hayden; her brothers and sisters: Jon McQueen of Saint John, Sharon Mann and her husband Sud of BC, Wayne McQueen of BC, Pam Doiron and her husband Bob of Saint John, Shirley Bevans-Burns of Florida, Jeanette Haase of ON, Dawn Jourmeay and her husband Sydney of Hamilton, ON, David Bevans and his wife Betty of Upham and Billy Bevans and his wife Doris of Barnesville as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Doreen Violet Harvey of Sussex passed away at her home on March 7th, 2014 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her husband Earl; her mother Lillian McQueen; her two daughters: Anita and Sherri; her sister Ruthanne Worrell and her brother David McQueen, her step mother Eileen (Day) Bevans and by her father Arthur Bevans. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Doreen's life will be held from Faith Bible Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by a time of fellowship with the family. The interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
