Obituary of William Polley

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr. William Edward Polley. Bill passed away on March 30th, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on April 26, 1930 in North Clones, NB he was the son of the late Harry and Elsie (Reeder) Polley and husband of the late Jean (Chambers) Polley who passed away in 1994. Bill worked at the Saint John Dry Dock where he retired from after 36 years. He was a hard worker and made many lifelong friendships during his time there. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening or anything that involved being in the outdoors. He liked to read western novels, play 45s and to tinker away at things. He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Joanna Polley of Rothesay; his daughter of choice Kim MacLeod and her husband Derrick of Quispamsis; his brother Walter and his wife Greta of Sussex and his sister; Ethel Murphy of Chatham; his sisters-in-law: Myrtle Chapman, Ivy Carten, Marjorie Braman, Florence MacArthur and her husband Gordon, Alice Parlee and her husband Paul, Frances Harding and her husband Alden, Russell Chambers and his wife Annie, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by two brothers: Spencer and Charlie Polley, three sisters-in-law: Mary Braman, Lucy Chambers and Freda Parlee, and by three brothers-in-law Harold, Charles and Lemuel. Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A service celebrating Bill's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception and an opportunity to visit with the family. The interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery in the spring. A special thank you is extended to the Extra Mural Nursing staff for the compassionate care and kindness Bill received during his illness. www.wallacefuneralhome.com
