Ruth was born in Butternut Ridge, Havelock on October 2, 1943; she was the daughter of the late Edith Linfield of England and the late Joseph Alward of Havelock, NB who passed away in 1972. Ruth had a kind soul and an infectious laugh that made everyone around her smile. As Valedictorian in her graduating class she continued throughout the years with her hard work as a loving wife and mother of six children. Looking after others came naturally to Ruth, always leaving her door open to anyone who needed it. Her love for the outdoors extended from her passion in the gardens to hunting in the fall. A proud and loving mother to all her kids, she will be sadly missed and her memories will be forever more carried in their hearts. Ruth will live on in the hearts of her mother who resides in Quesnel, BC, Eugene her beloved husband of 52 years, her daughters: Penny Kelly and husband Richard of Knightville, Lynn Beach and husband Brett of Grande Cache, AB, Tammy Dixon and her spouse Don MacLean of Trenton, ON.; her son's: Chris and wife Lynn of Cornhill, Tracy and his wife Theresa of Jefferies Corner, Kirk and his wife Monique of Newline; her sisters: Ella Brantnall and her husband Oscar and Sharon Brantnall and her husband Raymond all of BC; five brothers: Ernie Alward and his wife Shirley and Joseph Alward and his wife Audrey all of NS, George Alward and his wife Linda and Bob Alward and his wife Marilyn all of Anagance, Doug Alward and his wife Lynn of Quispamsis, nine grandchildren: Shawn kelly, Trevor Kelly, Jeffrey Beach, Matthew Beach, Lacey McPhee, Cody McPhee, Brittany McPhee, Makayla McPhee, and Selena McPhee; her great grandchildren: Madison, Chase and Avarie; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Barb Sears Joyce McPhee, Leta McPhee, Mary McPhee, Phyllis and Bob Jones, Elva and Winston Greer, Randy and Madeline McPhee and Hon and Bill Folkins as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Ruth Anne Elizabeth McPhee of Penobsquis passed away at the Moncton Hospital on March 31st, 2014 at the age of 70. She is predeceased by her son, Jeffery; her brother James Alward and by her great grandson Jahmall; brothers and sisters-in law: Howe McPhee, Emery McPhee, Clement and Frances McPhee, Donald McPhee, Cecil Sears, Gerald McPhee. A service celebrating Ruth's life will be held from Penobsquis Baptist Church on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
