Eleanor was born in Hammondvale on August 11, 1950. She was the daughter of Reginald and the late Mary (Edgett) O'Dell, who passed away in 2009 and the wife of Ronald Dennis. Eleanor made the journey to Williams Lake to be near her daughter. While she was there she met Ron and they fell in love. One day he asked her to go for coffee and they went to the coffee shop on his motorcycle. That was when Eleanor fell in love with his motorcycle. She took her test and after receiving her license she was hooked. She ended up owning two bikes and loved being on the road. The next big adventure for Eleanor was getting her Class 1 license. She worked for Ron for a time hauling logs and this was something she enjoyed doing. Eleanor worked hard her whole life to take care of her children and make a good life. Family was everything to her and she was very proud of the people her children had become and all they had accomplished. Eleanor and Ron did a lot of travelling, visiting every province in Canada and every state in the United States except for Alaska and Hawaii. She made many friends throughout her journey in life. Eleanor was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her father, Reg O'Dell; her husband Ron Dennis; her children: Patricia Floyd and her husband Gerald, Neal DeVine and his wife Amber, and Kevin DeVine and his wife Jackie, all of Hammondvale, Kathleen Dion and her husband Adam of Ottawa; her grandchildren: Mitchell, Mathew, Melissa, Emily, Alex, Alaina, Erika, Madison, Amanda, Ashley, Avery, Tristin, Morgan, Drake and Eric; her great grandchildren: Nevaeh, Austin, Gabriella, Blaydan and Milykah; her sisters: Bella McGouey and her husband Gregory of South Branch and Marie Proctor and her husband Cedric of Williams Lake, BC as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eleanor Dennis of Penobsquis, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on June 3, 2014 at the age of 63. Arrangements have been entrust to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176. As per Eleanor's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00am. There will be an opportunity to speak with the family following the service. Interment will take place at Trinity Cemetery.
