Justin was born on September 19, 1937 in Placentia, Newfoundland and was the son of the late Aloysius and Anna (Ryan) O'Keefe. Justin was a very mischievous child and loved to tease. When he was a small boy living in Newfoundland, his mother had a cuckoo clock and it would cuckoo every hour on the hour. Well, Justin found this very annoying so he decided to glue the doors to the clock shut. His mother believed the clock was broken and he had a great laugh. Following graduation from high school, Justin went to work for the Department of Highways working as a surveyor. Within a short time, he attended Memorial University, as he knew the value of education. He then worked as a US Paymaster on the base in Gander. Justin had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good laugh. He loved to tease and he could take a good teasing as well. Justin made his way to New Brunswick and eventually went to work for Sussex Tire. He made many friends during his time in Sussex and knowing him made your life just that much better. Justin will be lovingly remembered by his beloved Gertrude; Gertrude's children: Karen McNamara (Lawrence), Norine Arrons (Charles) and Keith Longmire; his brother Patrick O'Keefe (Sandy); his sister Annabelle Kinsella (Patrick); his niece Joanne Kinsella; his nephews: Shawn Kinsella, Jeffrey, Sheamus, Jonathon and Joel O'Keefe and their families. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mr. Justin Patrick O'Keefe of Sussex, NB who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 10, 2014. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176, where visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Justin's life will be held on Friday, June 13th, 2014 at 10am from the Wallace Community Chapel. The interment will take place at the Plumweseep Cemetery.
