Obituary of Noella Frigault
Noella was born in Miscou Center, NB on December 17, 1940; she was the daughter of the late Camille and Rosanna (Bezeau) Frigault.
Noella was born into a family of 12. They lived in Miscou until 1956 when the family moved to Saint John.
In 1960 she married George Ritchie. They lived in Saint John, and later moved to Kingston where they raised 3 children: Ricky, Cindy and Kevin. Noella worked with her husband doing carpentry. Together they also bred, raised and showed Samoyed dogs.
In the early 70's Noella ran a canteen that would later turn into the Iceland Queen restaurant on the Pickwauket Road. In 1977, Noella's first husband, John passed away.
In 1978 she married Philip Nelson and they moved to Hampton and had a daughter, Christina. In the early 80's, Noella welcomed four grandchildren: Christopher, Melissa, Alicia and James.
Sadly, in 1984 she lost her second husband, Phillip.
Noella moved to Penobquis in 1989, where she took care of her mother and brother, Onile. To date she has welcomed an additional seven grandchildren: Matthieu, Tyler, Brittany, Kaitlin, Miranda, Jordan and most recently Reid. As well as 6 beautiful great-grandchildren: Tyrone, Dylan, Benjamin, Lucas, Nokomis, and Carma Lynn.
For many years Noella sang in the church Choir, taught Sunday school, helped with Church dinners, played cards with seniors and was involved with the skating rink in Penobsquis. Noella was always there for her family and if you showed up at her house at suppertime she would have enough food for everyone.
One of Noella's many loves was her garden. She would start planting early and would give fresh produce to whomever stopped by. When the garden was ready to be picked she would then make plenty of jam and pickles for everyone before she moved onto her famous meat pies.
Since being diagnosed with cancer in January of 2012, Noella fought hard to stay with her family, especially Robert Gallant who loved and cared for her every day. Robert has been our families Guardian Angel; taking care of our Mom...making sure she was around to meet her newest grandson, Reid.
Noella will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Christina Proudfoot and her husband Adam of Saint John and Cindy King and her husband Sheldon of Sussex; her sons: Ricky Ritchie and his wife Wendy of Kingston and Kevin Nelson and his wife Sherry of Edmonton; her loving friend and companion, Robert Gallant; her grandchildren: Christopher, Melissa, Alicia, James, Tyler, Brittany, Katlin, Miranda, Mathieu, Jordan and Reid;her great grandchildren: Tyrone, Dylan, Nokomis, Benjamin, Lucas, Carma Lynn; her sisters: Clementine Broderick of Sarnia, ON, Lottie Hooley of Saint John and Josephine Dorcas and her husband Ronald of Grand Bay; her brothers:Felix of Moncton, Onile of Penobsquis, Francis of Saint John, Camille and his wife Donna of Saint John and Fred and his wife Marion of Saint John as well as by several nieces and nephews.

"...We got the news that you were gone, now we wonder how we will go on. You are so special, you were our whole life, this pain that we feel cuts like a knife. Now you're God's angel with wings to fly, through Heaven's Gates way up in the sky. We will miss your smile, your sweet voice, but we have to let you go because we have no other choice. Now when we need you we look up above knowing in our hearts you will be sending us your love. We know you're with God and in a better place it just hurts us so bad that we will no longer see your beautiful face...Rest in Peace."
