Obituary of Laura Gregg
Laura was born in Mapleton, Albert Co. on October 15, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Percy and Maudie (Steeves) Crandall and was the wife of the late Ralph Gregg, who passed away in 2001.
She taught school through out Albert Co. during WWII and was an active member of Elgin First Baptist church for over 60 years. Laura raised a large family and worked outside the home as well. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and crib.
Laura will live on in the hearts of her four daughters: Mildred and Tom McShane of Jeffries Corner, Carol Jeffery and Ron McClennon of Edmonton, Alberta, Brenda Gregg and Dave Powell of Hamilton, ON, Laverne Gregg and Ivan Rivers of Edmonton, Alberta; three sons: Ralph Gregg and his wife Joanne of Jeffries Corner, Larry Gregg and Barb Howe of Knightville and Floyd Gregg of Hamilton, ON; three sisters: Kathleen Duffy of Hopewell Cape, Dorothy Crandall of Jordon Memorial, Addie Gaudet of Petitcodiac; four brothers: Harold of Salisbury, sister-in-law Alice of Mapleton, Albert Co, Leroy and his wife Joy of Kitchener, ON, Richard and his wife Joan of Riverview, Gordon and his wife Florence of Mapleton, Albert Co. ten grandchildren: Ricky McShane, Kelly O'Leary, Michael Gregg, Lorinda and Trevor Jeffery, Stephanie and Julia Keirstead, Stacy Kerr and Tracy Powell, ten great grandchildren: Travis McShane, Evan, Morgan, Marcus O'Leary, Gabriel Pacheo Crue, Ethan Keirstead, Ryker, Kole and Knox Jeffery, Madalynn, Abagail and Landon.
Mrs. Laura May Gregg of Hampton and formerly of Jefferies Corner passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on July 31, 2014 at the age of 86.
Laura is predeceased by her daughters: Beverley and Christine and son Bruce, her grand-daughter Leslie Gregg, her brother Henry, her brothers-in-law Vincent Duffy and Ed Gaudet and by her great granddaughter and Chrissy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Sunday August 3, 2014 from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A service celebrating Laura's life will be held from Wallace Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by a time of fellowship with the family.
