Royden was born in Blackville on March 31, 1943; he was the son of the late Shirley Roland Sturgeon of Blackville and Frances Grace (Brown) Sturgeon of New Castle. Royden was a Retired Animal Control Officer and is survived by his son Michael Sturgeon of Calgary, Michael's grandmother Ruth (Sullivan) Gillespie of Blissfield, as well as several cousins, extended family and friends in Sussex and Miramichi. Mr. Royden Shirley Sturgeon of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on September 10, 2014 at the age of 71. He is predeceased by Michael's mother Dorothy Ann Gillespie, who passed away on January 30, 2012. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A graveside service Celebrating Royden's life will be held at the Blissfield Wesleyan Church Cemetery Monday afternoon at 2:00, followed by an opportunity to visit with the family in the Church.
