Obituary of Dorothy Stewart

Dorothy was born in Portagevale, N.B. on July 25, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Heber and Madge (Goddard) Dunfield and the beloved wife of the late Aldran Stewart who passed away in 1980. Dorothy was a member of St. John's United Church in Sussex Corner and contributed to various church programs. She was church elder for several years, the church treasurer for over 25 years, a member of the senior choir, director of the junior choir program and a member of the UCW participated in annual fund-raising events. In Brunswick Belles, Dorothy was a seamstress for many of the singing troops uniforms and participated in music competitions. She was also a member of a weekly bridge club for several years. Dorothy enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, sewing, quilting, reading and bridge club. Dorothy will live on in the hearts of her son, Don and his wife Dianne of Calgary, Alberta; by two daughters: Susan Duke and her husband Tony of Falmouth, N.S. and Sally of Orange County, CA.; her sister Marjorie of Moncton, N.B.; four grandchildren: Matthew Stewart and his wife Lorena, Zoe Layton and her husband Brady, Andrew Duke and his wife Jennifer and Erin MacIntyre and her husband Bill; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dorothy Priscilla Stewart of Sussex Corner, N.B. passed away on October 10, 2014. She was predeceased by her brothers: Walter and George and by her sisters: Mary and Marguerite. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, N.B. 506-433-1176 where the family will be receiving relatives and friends on October 15th from 6 to 8 pm. A celebration of Dorothy's will be held from St. John's United Church on October 16, 2014 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Gene Fisher officiating. Interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
