Rita was born in Plumweseep, NB on August 21, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Purtill) Ryan and was the wife of the late Ralph "Jud" Proctor who passed away in 1994. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Dr. Joan Proctor of Conquerall Mills, NS and Carol Shanks (Mike) of Sussex Corner; two grandchildren: Kailey and Justin; her sister, Lois McHugh of Saint John; two brothers: Jim Ryan (Eileen) of Sussex, George Ryan (Rose) of Saint John; her sister in law: Ora Ryan of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rita Proctor of Sussex passed away on November 8th, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 93. Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph "Jud" Proctor who passed away in 1994; her two brothers: Thomas and Walter and her two sisters: Irma Gillespie and Kathleen Harrington. Family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 11th from 1-3 and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery.
