Obituary of Emma Sprott
Born in Norton Parish on May 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joel Richard and Ella May (Stackhouse) Chase and was the wife of the late Gavin H. "Guy" Sprott.
Jean enjoyed picking berries, baking, especially fudge, crocheting, knitting, making crafts, dancing, gardening, planting flowers, mowing her three acre lawn and music, especially playing the accordion and mouth organ.
When Jean was younger she worked as a waitress and then moved on to raise and care for her family.
Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by several nieces and nephews: Phyllis Dahl (Nelson), Daryl McFarlane (Joan), Donna McFarlane (Steven Glendenning), Barbara Tays (Clifford), Merlin Chase (Donna), Bonnie Marshbank, Dianne Chase, Joyce Mitchell (Harry), Stephen Chase (Sharon), Theresa Teakles (Brad Healey), Elizabeth Wheaton, Calvin Chase (Terry), and Gerald Chase (Kathy), and Heather Chase.
Mrs. Emma "Jean" Sprott of Lower Cove passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on November 14, 2014 at the age of 85. She is predeceased by her son, Russell Guy Sprott who passed away in 2008; her brothers: Elmer Chase, Norman Chase and Charles Chase and by her sisters: Adeline Humphrey and Ida McFarlane as well as by her nephews: Vernon Chase, Ernie Chase, Carl Chase and Ralph Chase.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th, 2014 from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A service celebrating Jean’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00 am.
The interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery.
