Obituary of Lewis Murray

Jack was born on April 4, 1920 in Penobsquis and was the son of the late Walter and Alberta (McQuinn) Murray. Jack joined the Royal Canadian Air Force with his brother Stewie Murray and friend Doug McCready. After returning home from war in 1945, he met and married Mubby on November 23, 1946. They went on to have a wonderful life, raising their children and making memories. Their son George was born in 1948 and daughter Christene born in 1952. His wife and his children were his pride and joy. Jack worked very hard to take care of his family, working as a mechanic for McQuinn's garage in Sussex and then worked with his father. Jack and his nephew Dale Bustin opened "Bustin and Murray" in Penobsquis. Jack made the decision to cut back and semi retire, but with time on his hands, ended up working at Sussex Tire. When he made the decision to fully retire, he and and Mubby had a wonderful life. They played cards every night with best friends Jean and Yvon Lanctin and had garden growth wars with John and Nancy Murray. They also enjoyed traveling to visit friends and relatives on the prairies, in BC and going to numerous Air Force Reunions across Canada and in the UK. Jack was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many and he will be missed. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Christene Murray and Andrew of Sussex; his son, George Lewis and his wife Sharon Murray of Saint John; his brothers: David and R. Clifford (Ethelyn); his sister Elizabeth A. Pickle; his granddaughters: Jennifer Murray, Jessica Adair (Joe), Rebecca Dunfield; great grandchildren: Austin and Anna Adair; his sister in law Jean Murray as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Louis Ronald "Jack" of Sussex, passed away at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing on November 20, 2014 at the age of 94. He is predeceased by his sister, Nellie Bustin; his brothers, Donald and Stuart; his sisters-in-law, Kaye Murray and Doris Murray and brothers-in-law Bill Bustin and Jim Pickle. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Monday, November 24th from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
