John was born in Belleisle Creek on February 26, 1934; he was the son of the late Arthur Albert Long of Belleisle Creek and Loretta Ann (Northrup) Long of Collina..
John was a senior board member of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church. He loved the Lord and continued to give of himself to others. His Church and music was a big part of his life. He was an employee of Robinson Farms for over 35 years.
John will continue to live on in the hearts of Glenna (nee) Lint his beloved wife of six years; his step children: Bill (Christine) of Gray, Maine, Dan (Sheila) of Delta Junction Alaska, Gene of Brownfield, Maine and Corrie (Jani) of Delta Junction Alaska; his step-grandchildren: Adam, Ethan, Ryan, Bryan, Bradley, Danae, Brianna, Sarah and Ellyson; his step-great grandchildren: Gabriel, Clayton, Jena, Brady and Blake; his sisters: Hazel Wickens of Calgary and Freda Steeves of Quispamsis; his-sisters-in-law: Barbara Long, Dorothy White and her husband Orville, Bertha Dejett and her husband Alfred Muriel White, Leta Kennedy and her husband Gordon, Barb Bond, Marlene Moss; his-brothers-law: Robert Clark and his wife Lois, Ron Moss and his wife Thelma, Chester Moss and his wife Jean, Everett Moss and his wife Audrey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. John Wesley Long of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on December 1, 2014 at the age of 80. He is predeceased by his first wife Violet (Moss) who passed away in 2007, his brothers: Harold, Ralph, Lawrence, Wesley and Clarence; his sisters-in-law: Lorraine Long, Nellie Long, Marie Ferris, Diane Vail, Evelyn Boxwell, Ella Foster and Lorraine Carlstrom; his brothers-in-law; Alan Moss, Harold Moss, Pastor Ed Wickens, Stan Steeves, Warren, Eldon, Phillip and Donnie Lint.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
A service celebrating John's Life will be held from Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church, Main Street, Sussex on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00 am; followed by the interment at Riverbank Cemetery. The family will be returning to the Church for a time of fellowship all are welcome to stay.
