Obituary of Thelma Moss
Thelma was born in Norton on June 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Alvin Clark of Clarkstown Queens Co. and Lillie Mae (Northrup) of Norton.
Ron and Thelma were married in 1954 and for over 60 years Thelma remained the center of Ron's world. It was always a running joke that if Thelma asked Ron to chew her food, he would.The love they shared is like no other. Together they raised six children whom she loved with all her heart, they could never leave the house without a hug, a kiss and an I love you! The children thought their mother's name was 'Hon' as that was all he ever called her.
She was a secretary for several years and was employed with William W. Bunnell Law Office and Nelson Monuments; she loved the Sussex Wesleyan Church where she once was a member of the church choir.
Her family, collecting Teddy Bears, crossword puzzles and shopping were some of her greatest pleasures. Thelma loved the Lord and her church family.
The death of her son David took its tole on her and with her health slowly deteriorating; she was only able to remain home because of her daughter Suzanne and Paul moving back from out west and the dedicated care of her homecare worker Margaret Lewis.
Thelma will continue to live on in the hearts of Ron, her beloved husband of over sixty years, her daughters: Suzanne Noddin and her husband Paul of Spruce Grove, Alberta, Theresa Marriott and her husband Dave of Sussex; her sons: Paul of Sussex, Stephen and his wife Heather of Hillsborough, Andrew and his wife Shelly of Sussex; her grandchildren: Jeremy and his wife Sarah, Jason and his girlfriend Shannon, Jillian and her boyfriend Markus, Dylan, Thomas and his wife Tory, Josh and his wife Cassie, Sheridan, Nicholas and his wife Amanda, Chris and Jonathan and his girlfriend Kelsy; her great grand children: Danica, Brody, Dominick Chance, Evi, Jaxon and Brendon; her sister, Mary Jack, her brother Robert Clark both of Sussex; and her daughter-in-law Elaine and her husband Chris Riedel of New Jersey, her adopted daughter Diane Parlee, her adopted granddaughter BJ Beechin and her special friend Margaret Lewis;as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thelma Roberta Moss of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on December 25, 2014 at the age of 79. She is celebrating Christmas with her son David, her granddaughters Ashton and Kyla, and her sister Annie Fair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday evening 6-9.
A service celebrating Thelma's life will be held from Sussex Wesleyan Church on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by an opportunity to visit with the family. A private family interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery.
