Muriel was born in Sussex on January 3, 1919; she was the daughter of the late Simon P. Friars of Markhamville and Eliza J. (McWilliams) of Tryon, PEI. Muriel was a Lab Technician Assistant with Sussex Cheese and Butter for many years and was a member of Sussex Baptist Church, a former member of the Fidelity Class, 55+, the Phythian Sisters, the Women's Institute (KV) and the Naturalist Club. Miss Muriel Gladys Friars of Lower Millstream passed away at the Primrose Cottage Special Care Home on January 10, 2015 at the age of 96. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). In honour of Muriel's request, no visitation will be held. A service celebrating Muriel's life will be held from Sussex Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 2:00pm The interment will take place in Kirk Hill Cemetery in the spring.
