Obituary of Carrie Gowlett

Carrie was born in Berwick Corner on October 23, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Norman Goddard of Southbranch and Francis (Orr) of Millbrook and the wife of the late Ernie Gowlett who passed away November 5, 2013. Carrie was a member of the Salvation Army and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Sussex Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20. Carrie is survived by three daughters: Eunice Keirstead of PEI, Susan Brooks of Sussex Corner and Brenda Lee Bartlett of Sussex; three step-daughters: Mary Boyd of Sussex, Geraldine Gowlett of Sussex and Joan Tays and her husband Ronnie of Passekeag; two step-sons: George Gowlett and his wife Joan of Bloomfield and Bryant Gowlett and his wife Wanda of Sussex; her sister, Mabel Dalling of Chamber Settlement; her brother, Harvey Goddard of Lower Millstream; her sisters-in-law: Edna Goddard, Myrtle Goddard, Dorothy Desjardin and Marjorie Goddard. Dorothy will also continue to live on in the hearts of her 28 grandchildren: Kathy Keirstead and her husband Randy, Clayton and Lori Keirstead Lloyd and Gena Keirstead, Sally and Tommy Miller, Randy Keirstead (Judy Dube - Orr, Tina and Michael Vessey, Michelle Brooks (Randy Buchanan), Tiffany Brooks, Cody Brooks, Devon Brooks, Stephanie Coneen (Jason), William Coneen (Michelle Gerdis), Kyle Coneen, (Hilary Stewart), Rebecca Coneen, Tina and Richard Steeves, Clayton Gowlett (Charlene Jessop), Ernie Jesso (Karen Hayward), Patrick and Rebecca Beach, Amanda and Nathan Bizeau, Laura Lee Gowlett, John and Shelly Gowlett, Scott and Melissa Gowlett, Randy and Bonnie Gowlett, Russell Tays, Christian Gowlett, Shelby Gowlett, Carl and Margie Walsh and Teddy Walsh (Kammie); as well as her 44 great grandchildren: Kaley, Ryan, Jordan, Adam, Megan, Amanda, Kevin, Brandon, Gabrielle, Matthew, Allison, Justine, Derian, Riley, Celeste, Nigel, Ivy, Skylar, Kassandra, Hailey, Madison Marie and Justin Lowen, Cody Lee, Emma, Gabriel, Genevieve, Tobias, Lindsay, Jasmine, Bailey, Taylor, Summer, Cassie, Julian, Monica Lambert , Katelyn, Sarah, Spencer, Jack Lockhart, Samantha, Keisha, and Katelyn (Dale); and her three great great grandchildren: Valerie, Nevaeh and Jack; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carrie Gowlett of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on January 10, 2015 at the age of 90. She is predeceased by her first husband Joe Chestnut who passed away in 1984; her second husband Ernie Gowlett in 2013; her brothers: Clifford, Perley, Everett, Eric, Herbert, Robert, Clarence, Wesley, Palmer, Donald and Russell; his sisters: Marion Gillett, Florence Campbell and Vivian Matchett, two step-sons Freeman and Stanley; two step-daughters: Beulah and Florence. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Visitation will be held at the Salvation Army Community Church on Tuesday from 1-3 and 6-8pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a tribute at the Church on Tuesday evening at 5:45pm. A service celebrating Carrie's life will be held from the Salvation Army Community Church on Wednesday morning at 11am followed by an opportunity to visit with the family at the Sussex Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20.
