Obituary of Lillian Cole
Lillian was born in Coles Island on December 3, 1915; she was the daughter of the late Herbert Sleep of Coles Island and Annie (Evans) of Saint John.
Lillian owned and operated the Island View Restaurant; she was a past member of the LOBA, the Washademoak Lions Club, president of the Coles Island Senior Citizens Club, the Red Cross and the Women's Institute.
Lillian has left her print on the lives of her son Dennis and Katherine Cole of Weslford, her three grandchildren, Stephen, Sarah, Zackary; her three great grandchildren:Aidan, Kyra and Gregory; her daughter-in-law Mary Cole of Cumberland Bay as well as several nieces and nephews;
Lillian Cole of Coles Island passed away peacefully at her home on January 19, 2015 at the age of 99. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, she is predeceased by her husband Frank in 1987; her son Frank; her sisters: Florence Wilson and Grace Waddell, and by her brothers: Otto Evans and Herbert Sleep.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21st from 7-9pm.
A service celebrating Mrs. Cole's life will be held from the Wallace Community Chapel on Thursday, January 22nd, 2015 at 3:30pm.
