Obituary of Germaine Cormier

Germaine was born in Plaster Rock on May 25, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Leila Patricia Murphy and Arthur Oran Church as well as her step-mother, Gloria Zwicker and was the wife of the late Albert Cormier who passed away in 2008.

Germaine was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. Her early years were spent with Ab in Schefferville. Germaine spent her life devoted to her family, running a hair salon and enjoying sports and dancing. Germaine and her husband Ab spent their retirement years in Sussex Corner with their winters in Florida enjoying their life.

Germaine will continue to live on in the hearts of her daughter, Patricia Michaud and her friend Alain of Quebec City; three sons: Brian and his wife Louise of Truro, Kevin and his wife Joanne of Sussex Corner and Collin and his wife Gitane of Quebec City; her grandchildren, Rhiannon, Leigh, Jason, Jeremy, Jesse, Caitlin, Kiersten, Kim, Sebastian, Katrina and Noah; brothers, Steve Church, William "Bill" (Gerri) Church, Brent (Connie) Church, Tim Church; her half-brothers: Wayne Zwicker, Stan Zwicker and his wife Joy; her sister-in-law, Beth; her brother-in-law, George McKeller. as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Germaine Cormier of Sussex Corner, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 11, 2015 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her mother, Leila (Murphy) and father, Arthur Church; stepmother, Gloria Church; her son, Tim Cormier; her sister, Margaret McKeller; her brothers, Frank Church, Barrett Church and Harold Church and her daughter-in-law Gitane.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).

At her request, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held, in the spring when the flowers are blooming and the sun is warming our hearts, from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on May 16, 2015 at 11:00 am. A time of fellowship will follow in the church hall.
