Obituary of Lillian Smith

Lillian was born in England on October 4, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ada (Mills) Southgate and the wife of the late Everett Smith who passed away in 1987. Lillian was a war bride and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a well known seamstress having worked at several businesses in Sussex. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Joy Brown and her husband Donald of Apohaqui; her sons: Stephen Smith, Gerald Smith, Randy Smith, Paul Smith and his wife Debbie, all of Sussex; her daughter-in-law, Darlene Buchanan of Sussex; her sister, Doris Cargille of England and her twin sister, Rose Connell of England; her grandchildren, Crystal Gray (Pat), Misty Roose, Melissa Roose, Matthew Brown, Lucas Brown, Joy Buchanan and Jeremy Smith, Geb McLaughlin, David Wark (Charity) and Doug Wark (Paulette); great grandchildren: Michaela, Marcus, Sydney, Jackson, Brett. Willow, Andrea, Michael, Rikki, Luke, Parker, Jaxson, Joseph, Maverick and Reid; her special friend Veronica, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lillian Margaret Smith of Sussex, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on February 12, 2015 at the age of 91. She is predeceased by her daughter, Starr L. Smith; her son Roger Smith; her brothers, Alf Southgate and Ernie Southgate and by her three sisters: Kit Moodie, Ada Hennessey and Francis Nicholson and her special friend Rudy Koppel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176. There will be no visitation held. A service celebrating Lillian's life will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 at 2:00pm from Wallace Community Chapel. There will be an opportunity to speak to the family immediately following the service in the Wallace Reception Area. Interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery in the Spring.
