Obituary of Agnes Simpson

Agnes was born in Norton on June 11, 1929; she was one of six children of the late Milford Kincaid of East Scotch Settlement and Pearl Margaret Slattery of Cloverhill and the wife of the late Alexander Morton. Agnes grew up in Norton and when she was 17 met Alec, the love of her life and were married on Dec 5, 1946. Together they worked on different farms and soon it was time to raise their own family and over the years they fostered 27 children as well as raised four of their own. They were a very close family, spending many Sunday afternoons with her brothers and sisters. In 1975, Alec and Aggie moved to Alberta, but their hearts were in NB so thy moved back in 1979. She was an avid collector, including spoons, thimbles, and over 500 sets of salt and pepper shakers. Many hours were spent growing flowers and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her eyes sparkled saying "OOOHH" when they walked through the door. Agnes will live on in the hearts of her daughters, Debbie Hanley and her husband Pat of Sussex, Shelly Simpson (Carla) of Moncton; two sons, John Simpson and his wife Kate of Rimbey, Alberta, Mike Cusack and his wife Lori of Sussex, a special nephew Bryant Simpson and his wife Cheryl of Newton, her sisters: Madeline Forgrave of Weymouth, NS, Shirley Barton of Sussex, her brother-in-law Dave Hawkes of Hampton; 12 grandchildren: Jason Simpson, Connie Simpson, Mike Hanley, James Hanley and his wife Ruth, Corey Hanley and his wife Amanda, Amanda Hanley and Mark McLean, Tiffany Sarchfield and her husband Tyler, Terra-Lee Cusack and Robert Kingston Alex Cusack and Jenn Hogan, Katie Pearson and her husband Jeff, and Kirk Mercer; 23 great grandchildren: Aaron Tabin, Laura Vaine (Logan), Madeline Simpson, Mary Simpson, Jaylyn Simpson, Dwayne Bourassa, Shaylia Nickerson, Megan Nickerson, Felicity Pilon, Jonis Hanley, Emily Hanley, Nicole Chaisson, Michael chaisson, Ashlynn Scholten, Connor Scholten, Braedan Hanley, Isaac Hanley, Abigail McLean, Alexis McLean, Avery Sarchfield, Wyatt Pearson and Jackson Mercer; two great great grandchildren: Evanjoline Vaine and Dane Bourassa; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Agnes Simpson of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on March 13, 2015 at the age of 85. She is predeceased by her brother, Joseph Kincaid, her sisters: Kay Stackhouse and Vivian Hawkes; her granddaughter: Laura Simpson and great grandson Robert Wright. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
