Obituary of Jeff Worden
Jeff was born in Dunville, Ontario on April 7, 1961; he was the son of the late Carl Roland Worden of Codys and Barbara Coralie Knott of Cardiff, Wales, England.
The Wordens moved from Dunville in 1976 to Sussex Corner when Jeff was 15, where he attended Sussex Junior High and Sussex Senior High. In !977, be began working part time with the Town of Sussex and went full time as a Heavy Equipment Operator/laborer in Oct 1985, where he worked until 2011.
Jeff loved to tinker and fix anything, especially if it had a motor. He was an animal lover whose home always had a variety of cats and dogs, we were never without them. He had many good friends and loved to go for coffee especially Pizza Delight, where many hours were spent socializing. Jeff loved to snowmobile and 4 wheel around the area with his brothers and dad most of the time but any family member or excuse got him out on the trails. He was great with kids and became a big kid himself around them, although he had no children of his own his step daughter Lyss was always called his daughter. Her new baby daughter Sierra (8mos) was a granddaughter to him.
Jeff enjoyed going to car races whether here or on the Island and May long weekend was always scheduled for the opening races in the Mirimachi He loved fast cars and motorcycles, his dream was to own his own Harley Davidson Fatboy. Jeff was very much a family man and enjoyed his coffee times with his dad. He always had time to help anyone out when needed, regardless of time of day. Jeff really enjoyed his "movie nights" especially if it was anything to do with Star Trek, Star Wars, other Sci Fi or Disney. He looked forward to spending time at the Washedemoak Lake in Cambridge Narrows where his parents were from and had a family farm on the water front. Anyone wanting to go for a ride on his jet ski was just the excuse he needed to blast down the lake, usually scaring the pants of the passenger. Although he could be very stubborn, he also had a very soft side and a huge heart, a rough n tough looking man that was actually a giant teddy bear in disguise.
Jeff will live on in the hearts of his wife Debbie Roberts, two sisters: Patricia Luken and Wayne Barker and Pam Keith and her husband Lorne of Portage Vale; five brothers: Bill Worden and his wife Shirley and Michael Worden of Hamilton, ON, Jim Worden and Tom Worden and his wife Michelle all of Portage Vale; his step daughter Lyss Carpenter and Josh Maxwell and his step granddaughter Sierra of Picadilly; as well as several nieces and nephews: Andrea Baisley, Kyle Allen, Justin Allen, Barb Worden, Michael Worden and Joshua Worden.
