Edna was born in Miscouche, PEI on September 9th, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Philip Perry and Marie-Anne Eleonore (DesRoches) of Miscouchi, PEI, and the wife of the late Norman John Coates of Sussex, NB who passed away in 1990. Edna will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters; Cheryl Price of Saint John, Cynthia Coates of Sussex, Andrea Mallory and her husband Paul of Berwick, NB: and her son: Christopher Coates of Clairmont, Alberta; six grandchildren: Krista, Philip, Morgane, Thane, Dana and Cael; five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Philip Jr., Chris, Matthew and one more who as has yet to arrive. Mary Edna Theresa Coates of Waterford passed away on May 15th, 2015 at the age of 87 while under the compassionate care of Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John, NB. Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her sisters: Mabel, Regina, Melina, Rita, Loretta, Hermaine and Beatrice, and by her brothers, Ernest, Urban, Tilman, Louis and Cyril. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). In honour of Edna's wishes, a private family service will be held with the interment taking place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
