Obituary of Georgina Agnes MacDonald
Georgina was born in Havelock, NB on August 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late and Joseph and Audrey (Anderson) Taylor.
Her father, Joseph was a Home Boy from the Middlemore Homes of Birmingham England and brought up by John R. Price. He was a cheese maker so we moved several times. Georgina started school in Hammondvale then in 1928 moved to Belleisle Creek, then Pascobac, then Elm Brook. She worked in Norton for Dr. & Mrs Windsor for 3 years then went to Windsor, Ontario.
During the War, she worked for the Border City Industries, a branch of General Motors making the Bren Guns. She returned back to NB taking up work at Clark Ruse (Air Crafts) and the no5 Equipment Depot until the end of the war.
Georgina married Ernest Graham in 1945 and raised three children. She worked for Law's Poultry for 10 years then moved to Sussex to manage the Ant Hill Restaurant until it sold. She also worked on the Bulk Queen freighter that hauled salt from Nova Scotia to New Hampshire as a cook.
In later years she enjoyed doing fancy work such as quilts, tatting, crocheting and knitting. She hosted the Tuesday Night Fiddlers and for several years was a member of the Sussex Avenue Fiddlers in Moncton.
Mrs. Georgina Agnes MacDonald of Sussex Corner, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on May 24, 2015 at the age of 92.
Georgina will be missed by her family: John and his wife Peggy Graham of Airdrie Alberta, James and his wife Veronica Totton-Graham of Bull Moose Hill and Marion and her husband Richard Crawford of Bull Moose Hill and by her grandchildren: Taylor, Lauren and Kelly Graham, Timothy, Jeffrey, Shayne and Joseph Graham, Jason and his wife Cailtin Crawford, Jeremy Crawford, Jocelyn and her husband Jason Curtis. She will also be missed by great granddaughters: Devin Crawford and Felicia Curtis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Georgina was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Graham; her second husband, Horace MacDonald; her sister, Leona Pitaro and her brother, Charles (Sonny) Taylor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). At Georgina's request no visitation will be held.
A Celebration of Georgina's life will be held at St. Simon's & St. Jude's Anglican Church, Belleisle Creek, NB on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00am.
