Obituary of Phyllis M. McGarity

Phyllis was born in Johnville on June 24, 1931; she was the daughter of the late Murray Pickett of Kingston Pennisula, NB and Lillian (Pring) Pickett of England and the wife of the late Everett McGarity who passed away in December 26, 2011. Phyllis was a member of the Cambridge Narrows WI, Washademoak Legion Branch 60, and the Good Shepherd Anglican Church. Phyllis will remain in the hearts of her daughters: Irene Lewis and her husband Gordon of Coles Island, Linda Wagstaff and her husband John of Whites Cove, Doris Garland and her husband Terry of Baxter Corner, Georgetta Goddard and her husband Peter of Millstream; her son, Fred and his wife Betty of Whites Cove; two sisters: Gwen Rogne and Bill McElroy of Cambridge Narrows, and Vera Smith of Oshawa, Ontario; her brother Murray Pickett and his wife Phyllis of Cambridge Narrows; her step-brother, Norman Pollock and his wife Lorraine of Sussex; sisters-in-law: Jean Pickett of Sussex and Lynne Pickett of Havelock; 12 grandchildren: Gordonna Haché and her husband Clarence of Sussex, Tom Lewis and his wife Joanne of Sussex, Everett McGarity and his wife Lori of Cambridge Narrows, Peter McGarity and his wife Stephanie of Cambridge Narrows, Ryan McGarity and his wife Meghan of Whites Cove, Tammy Allaby and her husband Scott of Quispamsis, Bill Wagstaff and his wife Carrie of Jemseg, Angie Tracy and Jeff of French Village, Samantha Carr and Paul Carter of Aulac, Raymond Goddard and Gina of Sussex, Wesley Goddard and his wife Terri, and Charles Goddard all of Millstream; 21 great grandchildren: Jessica, Sophia, Eli, Griffin, Abby, Hannah, Rieley, Hayden, Meagan, Cameron, JJ. Calvin, Meadow, Shyanne, Jersey, Peyton, Katie, Alex, Tegan, Harvey and Brianna; as well as by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Phyllis M. McGarity of Mill Cove, passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on June 20, 2015 at the age of 83. She is predeceased by her husband Everett in 2011; by her five brothers: Fred, Bob, Don, Frank and Allen; two sisters: Eileen Noel and Isabel Secord; two step-sisters: Charlotte Pickett Marie Hodgin, Frances Carr, Winnie Bradshaw, Dorothy Hayes, Betty Taylor and Ruth Campbell; and by her step-brother, Ronald Pollock. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Phyllis' life will be held from Cambridge Narrows Anglican Church on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 2:30pm with Rev.
