Obituary of Gerald Scott

Mr. Gerald Thompson Scott was born in Apohaqui on December 29, 1925, he was the son of the late Rev. Wilfred and Elsie (Lewis) Scott. Gerry attended school in Apohaqui from Grade on to eight and then went on to Fredericton High where he graduated in 1941 or 1942. Gerry worked at McAvity's in Saint John. He was a seaman in the Navy, as well as working very hard throughout his life as a machinist. Gerry was a resident at the Kiwanis Nursing Home for 15 years. He loved to read the Telegraph Journal, he also had a great sense of humor and usually had a joke to tell the staff. Gerry loved his chocolates and a good cup of tea or coffee, as well as sitting outside in the summer months. Gerald is survived by his sister, Evlyn Fulton of Minto; his sister-in-law, Alice Scott of Edmonton, Alberta; his niece; seven nephews; as well as his friends and caregiver at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond, his sister Lois Carr, his brother in law Cameron Fulton. Mr. Gerald Thompson Scott of Sussex, passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 14, 2011 at the age of 85. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held from Riverbank Cemetery on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 at 12pm. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute at graveside.
