Mr. Gerald Hartley Connell was born in Cody's on August 8, 1913, he was the son of the late Hartley and Bessie (Corey) Connell and was the husband of the late Margaret (Somerville) Connell who passed away in 2002. Gerald is survived by two daughters: Peggy Landry and her husband John of Cumberland Bay and Linda Evanczyk and her husband Bryan of Oneonta, NY. three grandchildren, John and his wife Heather of Fredericton, Gerald and his wife Colette of Coopers Town, NY and Ryan and his wife Sara of Frisco, Colorado, five great grandchildren: Sally, Jane, Joaquim, Genevieve and Isaac; his sister-in-law Judy Connell of Codys; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Earl who passed away in 1991. Mr. Gerald Hartley Connell of Cumberland Bay, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on April 3, 2011 at the age of 97. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-3 and 6-8pm. There will be a tribute by the Royal Canadian Legion, Washademoak Branch #60 at 5:30pm and a tribute by the Zion Lodge #21, F & AM at 5:45pm. A Celebration of Gerald's life will be held from First Grand Lake United Baptist Church on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place at Coles Island Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the First Grand Lake United Baptist Church or the Palliative Care unit at the Sussex Health Centre.
