As a former teacher of the "Reicker" Girls at Sussex Elementary, I am very saddened to hear of Patricia's passing. I remember how very bright Patricia was and always a model student...As a young, very new teacher in the 70's, if there had been any problems, father Don & High School Principal next door, would soon be consulted!! Watching the DVD, brought back many memories of my connection to the Reicker family through teaching, the curling club and so many fun social events in Sussex during those years. I am so very, very sorry for your loss and heartache. What a sense of tremendous loss there is in the community as a whole. There are so many, many people over the years whose lives have been touched by Trish in some way.
Through Elementary School, Brownies, Guides, the freezing cold Sussex Pool, Junior High and High School, Trish forms a part of so many of our childhood and teenage memories. I will forever treasure each and every one but none more than our amazing, sometimes downright outrageous(Mr. Muscroft, Miss Dwyer, Mr. Swift and even Mr. Reicker himself could attest to this) moments as Sussex Sonics Basketball and Volleyball Players. I will absolutely treasure and remember FOREVER the many road trips in the school van (..and..were we really not supposed to be driving that beast???), the road and "off road" trips after practice in Linda's army van lol!!, the many stays at billets and hotels during tournaments, but most of all, that smile and dry sense of humour and sarcastic wit ( so, so much like your Dad's !! )
"Those were the Days My Friend" hanging out with you and the girls and guys teams, coaches, teachers and classmates...some of the very best days of my life.
I feel privileged to have shared time with you back then, to see you have your much desired family of which you were so proud. Thanks for all the memories. Rest now in peace, God Bless your family and help them through this incredibly difficult time knowing you live on in the hearts of so many.

I remember being in absolute awe of the grade 12 girls. Patricia was a wonderful strong athlete and I learned a great deal from her that year! Patricia and I worked together in the Cosmetics Department at Shoppers. Patricia took great pride in her work, excelled in customer service and was beyond kind to everyone. Trish's Obituary it states "If you are considering making a memorial donation the family has recommended Mental Health..."
People are reluctant to talk about mental illness even though it, like cancer and heart and stroke are often fatal.

To the Dunfield and Reicker familes, we are so sad and sorry to hear about Trish, she was always such a sweet kind soul. I have never forgotten her kindness to me many years ago as a 16 year old left by a so called friend at a party with 19 year olds none of whom I knew but she was there and befriended me and stayed with me all night, I have never forgotten her kindness and compassion shown to a dumb teenager all these years later. If more people were like her , the world would be a much better place.

I am not sure what to say except I am going to miss my Soccer\Hockey mom that was always at the rink or field next to me. We have known each other since Kole and Joesph stepped on the ice at about age 5 and then again with Khaden and Logan who have played soccer and hockey together forever and are the best of friends . You were always there for me when I had to blow off steam about my 3 boys and I would listen to you as well. That's what great mom's do! The Dunfield's to me are like part of my family and I will deeply miss that smile that Trish had and her pop that she drank at the rink while I drank my tims coffee. Great lady who will sadly be missed. My heart goes out to Mike, and the rest of the family xoxo
