Obituary of Thomas Elmer Armstrong
On Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Bobby's Hospice, Saint John, surrounded by his family, Thomas Elmer Armstrong, of Sussex, went to be with his precious Lord and Savior.
Born at Belleisle Creek on October 5, 1939, he was the son of the late Frank and Rachel (Knollins) Armstrong.
Over the years, Tom operated several businesses in the Saint John and Sussex areas including building and operating the Main Street Car Wash in Sussex. At the time of his death he was the owner and operator of Scenic View Special Care Home in Sussex.
Tom will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Helen (Morrell); two sons: Richard (Sheila) and Mark, both of Sussex; two daughters: Kelly (Ed) Legere of Quispamsis and Debbie (David) Bowes of Rothesay; grandsons: Joshua Thomas and Jack Phillip Bowes, Zachary Thomas Legere and granddaughter Ariel Skayeann Armstrong; brother, Ken (Lillian) of Sussex; sisters: Jean Webb of PEI, Verna Mills and Leah Armstrong, both of Saint John; brother in laws Pat Plested of Ontario and Don Mills of Saint John; several sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sisters: Marg Plested and Evelyn Ebbett; his brother Russell and a twin brother at birth.
Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176, from where visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
A Celebration of Tom's life will be held on September 24th, 2015 at 2:30pm from the Calvary Pentecostal Church, St. George Street, Sussex, NB.
The interment will take place at Belleisle Union Cemetery, Belleisle Creek.
