Obituary of Myra Lillian Osborne
Myra was born in Albert, Albert Co. NB on March 29, 1930; she was the daughter of the late William J. Howe of Gagetown, NB and Bernice Stella (Collins) of Albert, NB.
Myra was born in Albert; her father was a mechanic for the DOT in Sussex so the family moved here in the early 1930s Myra attended school here. In, 1946 Myra began her working career. She worked as a waitress and hostess in Sussex, Niagara Falls and Florida, as well as managed a hairdressing shop in Florida. She loved her Maltese dogs Brandy and Candy, cooking, crafts and shopping.
Myra will live on in the hearts of her husband Weldon, her children: her children: Bob Meehan of White Court, AB and Sharon Meehan of Surrey, BC; her step-daughter Betty (Osborne) Damery of Oromocto; her sisters: Madeline Currie of Sussex, Barbara Heffernan of Mississauga, ON, Lois Mann of Font Hill, ON and Connie Keeler of Iroquois, ON; her brothers: Carl Howe and his wife Betty of Edmonton, AB and Brian Howe and his wife Lezlie of Nanaimo, BC; her special niece Sandra Benson of Sussex and special cousin Charles Collins of Riverview, her granddaughter Angela Millard and her husband Ray of White Court, AB, her grandson Stephen Meehan of Fort Erie, ON; eight great grandchildren: Tiffany, Andrew, Sahyna, Taylor, Kelland, Dakota, Dryden and Samantha; five great great grandchildren: Hannah, Alivia, Nevaeh, Brooklyn and Jordyn; her step-grandchildren: Stephen Damery of Shilo, MB and Mark Damery of Lincoln, and step-great grandchildren: Karissa and Dakota Damery; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Florida and Sussex.
Myra Lillian of Sussex passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on October 14, 2015 at the age of 85. She is predeceased by her son Gary Meehan, her daughters-in-law Barbara and Connie Meehan; her grandson Lee Meehan, her son-in-law Bryan Lewis, her brothers: Calvin, Melvin and Harold; her brothers-in-law Wallace Currie, Leonard Heffernan, Charles Mann and Marvin Keeler and by her stepson-in-law Cecil Damery;
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
A service celebrating Mrs. Osborne’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm followed a time of fellowship with the family. A private family interment will take place at Kirk Hill Cemetery.
