Obituary of Ruby Audrey Ruth MacLeod
Ruby was born in Picadilly on September 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James Adair of Shepody and Gertrude (Kilpatrick) Adair of Lowell MA.
Ruby loved her brothers and sisters and losing Ron, Dorothy, Donna, Genevieve and Jim was very difficult for her. She loved her family very much and was very proud of them. She also loved her church and felt that when it was her time to go, so be it. She was very strong in her opinions and was not shy to let you know when yours were not the same as hers. Ruby was fiercely independent. She raised her children on her own which meant she was responsible for everything. She learned carpentry so she could fix things herself. She worked very hard to provide for her family as a cook, waitress or a labourer. She always commented that her parents had worked very hard in their life and she was exactly the same way. She loved to quilt, knit, crochet and spending time in her garden.
Ruby will live on in the hearts of her children: Brenda Thomas and her husband Budd of Wilbur Road, ON, Marilyn Fleming and her husband Bill of Keswick, ON, Bonnie Henderson and her husband Rick of Yellow Knife, N.W.T. and Tanya MacLeod of Saint John; Hughie McFarlane and his wife Joyce of Knightville Rd, Gary MacLeod of Sussex Corner and Scott MacLeod and his wife Patricia of Sussex; her sister: Darlene McFarlane of Plumweseep Rd; her sister-in-law Eloise Adair of Picadilly; her grandchildren: Jennifer Morin, Gregory, Nancy, Geoffrey and Aimee Fleming, Matthew and Brittany Henderson, Troy (Paula) and Jeremy McFarlane, Morgan and Kayla MacLeod and Jasmine, Tristan and Alexis MacLeod and Felicity MacLeod; her great grandchildren: Braxton McFarlane, Samantha, Cole, Emily and Owen Fleming, Addison, Peyton and Elizabeth MacLeod and Jackson and Quintin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
