I am standing on the sea shore. A Ship sails and spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.
She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her till at last she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says, "She is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all.
She is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as she was when I saw her, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destination. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "She is gone," there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout, "There she comes," and that is dying.

Memories
Our life on this earth is composed of so many grains of sand filtering its way through the hour glass of time
If you closely examine your life you will find that all you possess are memories
Remember the rose, a beautiful flower with soft velvet petals and sweet fragrance,
It will soon whither and die but will be forever held in a memory
Remember the infant cry of your very own child, this too, as children become older,
fades into the memories of your mind
Close your eyes and remember the scene of a farm house on a snow covered hill.
The soft virgin snow blowing in circles around the base of a leafless apple tree
You can see children in the distance, running and laughing while they play in the snow
Your memory will provide you with a chill, even in the warmth of the summer sunshine.
With these thoughts Dyanne, I have decided that while the sands of life
trickle away for me, the one thing I will always be grateful for are memories
Memories shall always be precious, for they will outlast time.
So as long as I have memories of you I am truly wealthy
and as long as you can continue to give memories then other will remember,
