Obituary of Maurice Harry Foster

Maurice was the son of the late Charles Foster of Salmon Creek and Dorothy (Clenic) Foster of Saint John. Born in Belleisle Creek on September 12, 1935, Maurice was followed by his brother Otis in 1937 and his sister Helen in 1938. In 1941, Maurice began his education at Elmbrook school and continued his education from 6-8 in Belleisle. Maurice left school to cut wood with Hedley Vail creating roadways for power lines and later moved on to pick tobacco in Ontario. In 1965, Maurice met Marilyn Ferris at a dance in Cambridge Narrows. In 1967, he went back to the woods, cutting for Peter Ravn and on October 28th of that year Maurice and Marilyn were married and they made their home in Cambridge Narrows. In 1968, Teresa came along and they moved to Sussex Corner and Maurice went to Glendale Homes, building homes then later went on to hauling mobile homes. In 1972, Greg was born and they family moved to the Newline Rd. In 1976, he went to MMH Prestige Homes and hauled their mini homes and ½ houses up to his retirement in 2002. One of the highlights for Maurice and Marilyn was in March 1986 when they won a trip to Bermuda through MMH Prestige Homes for a year with no accidents. Soon they family began to grow again with the addition of their son-in-law David Perry, and then their grandchildren: Samantha, Torrien, Rebekah, Devon and Araya. Maurice will live on in the hearts of Marilyn his beloved wife of 48 years, his daughter Teresa Perry and her husband David of Berwick, his son Greg Foster and his companion Melody Kane of Sussex, his brother Otis foster of Belleisle Creek, his sister Helen Keirstead and her husband John of Norton, his grandchildren, his special daughter Carolyn LeBlanc and her husband Claude of Sussex Corner, and his special son Mike Howe and his wife Melanie of Penobsquis; Maurice Harry Foster of Sussex Corner passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on January 25, 2016 at the age of 80. He is predeceased by his brother Albert and by his sister-in-law Marie Foster A service celebrating Maurice’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 11:00 am. followed by an opportunity to visit with the family.
