Obituary of Dorothy MacKenzie
Dorothy Myrtle Elizabeth MacKenzie was born on January 9, 1920. She was born in Brighton, England and was the daughter of William and Maud (Banks) Goddard.
Dorothy spent a lot of time at Mechanic Lake throughout her years. She loved being there and creating her flower gardens. There were many wonderful times spent there with family and friends.
Dorothy loved her dogs and cats and they were an important part of her life. She enjoyed knitting and reading as well as traveling to her beloved England. Dorothy moved to the Sussex Lions Villa in 2008 where she made lasting friendships. She played games and enjoyed many cups of tea with her many friends.
Dorothy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Those whose lives she has touched will be forever blessed.
She is survived by three daughters: Ann Carson and her husband Royden of Havelock, Linda Dixon and her husband Wayne of Sussex, Diane Phillips of Calgary, seven grandchildren; Kevin, Tracy, Paul, Stephen, Darryl, Chris and Ryan, nine great grand-children; Amber, Amanda, Katie, Natalie, Ava, Jordan, Brandon, Taylor and Ethan; her sister, Muriel Carter of England, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Bernard, two sisters, Mary Goddard and Marjorie Pacey, her grandson Adam, and by her husbands: Donald Bulmer, Hubert Horsman and Jack MacKenzie.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex.
A Celebration of Dorothy's life is held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00pm.
