Obituary of Robert Clifford Murray

Clifford was born in Penobsquis on August 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Walter S. Murray of Penobsquis and Alberta Pearle (McQuinn) Portagevale. He spent many years working in the woods, and welding, retiring from Potacan Mining in 1996. He spent much of his retirement in the woods of Picadilly, either cutting wood, or just walking up Picadilly Mountain. Clifford could often be found on the sidelines of his grandchildren's sporting events. Clifford will live on in the hearts of Ethlyn (Robinson) his beloved wife of 61 years; his children: Kim Losier and her husband Serge of Smiths Creek, Tami Joyce and her husband Darrell of Moncton, and Paul Murray and his wife Mary of Penobsquis; his sister: Elizabeth "Libby" Pickle of Virginia; his brother: David Murray and wife Patricia of Halifax; his sister-in-law Jean Murray of Sussex, his grandchildren: Lanette Losier and Alex, Stephanie Losier and Kyle, Monique Losier, Sam Murray, Ben Murray, Katherine Murray, Alisha Joyce and Kirk, Salli Joyce and Rylan and RJ Joyce and Mindy; his great-grandchildren: Chloe, Abigal, Zoey, Paisley, Kennedy and Aria; as well as several nieces and nephews. Robert Clifford Murray of Penobsquis passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on February 12, 2016 at the age of 84. He is predeceased by his sister: Nellie Bustin; his brothers: Donald, Jack, and Stuart; his sisters-in-law: Kaye Murray, Doris Murray, Mabel Murray and brothers-in-law: Bill Bustin and Jim Pickle. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1-4 . A service celebrating Mr. Murray’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 am with Rev. Gene Fisher officiating. There will be a time of fellowship with the family immediately following the service.
