Obituary of Murray Robert Bartlett
Murray was born in Sussex on March 26, 1940, he was the son of the late Robert and Caroline (Taylor) Bartlett. He was a fun and loving man. For the past 57 years he had the privilege of being married to his best friend, and soulmate, Ethel (Ellis) Bartlett. During those wonderful years Murray was blessed with eight wonderful kids, who in turn gave him 21 grandkids, and many great grandkids. Murray was known for his many qualities, including hard working, and loving his family more than anything in the world.
In his spare time he loved to watch old western movies. He also enjoyed walking with the kids to the train station for ice-cream, and making them laugh. Murray was known in the town of Sussex for many things; one of them being that every Christmas, he would go above and beyond with the decorations just so that the kids could have a show.
When spending time with his family, he was always the one to crack a joke, or make funny sounds just to get a laugh out of them. He was the kind of guy that everybody loved; be it his family, or just people from around town who knew him. If you were to hear any of the kids around town talk about him, it was always, “I’m going to see nanny and grampy.” There was never a person that he turned down, he loved everyone. Murray made a huge impact on the lives of many, and now that he is gone, he will be sorely missed by, not only his family, but by the whole community.
Murray will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Ethel; his daughters: Brenda Lee Durant and her husband Bruce of Saint John, Kimberly Bartlett of Montreal, Tonni MacKenzie and Wayne Estabrooks of Amherst, Wanda Gowlett and her husband Bryant of Sussex, Linda Mitchell and her husband Hugh of Blacks Harbour; his sons; Murray (Joe) Bartlett and his wife Brenda of Saint John, Dana Bartlett and Mary Ann of Saint John and Mark Bartlett and Candy Collins of Saint John; his grandchildren: Sabrina, Adele, Crystal, Melissa, Janet, Tim, Cheyenne, Hugh, Holly, Timmy and his wife Krystal, Matthew, Amanda, Karrie, Dezarea, Christain, Shelby, Russell, Eric, Dennis, Dana, Charlotte, Olivia, Maggie, Alisha, Courtney and Jessie; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
