Obituary of Wendell George Lackie
Mr. Wendell Lackie was born in Salt Springs on February 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Lemuel and Augusta (Allaby) Lackie.
Wendell will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Judy; his daughters: Leslie Hayes and her husband David of Moncton, Sheila Copp and her husband Tom of Conneticut, USA, Margaret MacDonald and her husband Gerry of Searsville, Ina Demmons and her husband Sheldon of Quispamsis, Wendy Lackie and Rick Lucas of Sussex Corner and Melissa Reicker and her husband James of Sussex; his son, Charles Lackie and his wife Desiree of Arizona, USA; his brothers: Curtis Lackie and his wife Pat of Newtown, Crandall Lackie and his wife Ruth of Mount Hebron, Alfred Lackie and his wife Evelyn of Mount Middleton and Ora Lackie and his wife Phyllis of Smiths Creek; his sister, Shirley Folkins of New Orleans; his brother-in-law, Elvin Otis of Sussex; his grandchildren: Jeremy Hayes and his wife Lynette of Red Deer, Mike Hayes and his wife Meaghan of Sussex Corner, Kris Hayes and Tansley Struters of Saskatoon, Amanda McGrath and her husband Jamie of Riverview, Lindsay McArthur and Andrew Howlett of Sussex, Marc McArthur and Kat Nichols of Portagevale; Jenna Lackie of Moncton, Amy Sears of Moncton, Justin Demmons of Quispamsis, Jacob Demmons of Quispamsis, Mitchell McLean- Lackie and Allie of Edmonton, Michelle McLean of Sussex Corner, Ryley Reicker of Sussex, Jayde Reicker of Sussex, Tomas Reicker of Sussex, Katie Lackie and Ben Payne of Penobsquis; his great grandchildren: Mackena, Camryn, Owen, Reagan, Axton, Abigail, Emmett, Myelle, Oliver, Finley Amelia, Madalin, Delilah, Darian, Maxim, Landyn, Ava, Maddoch and Viola; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister, Lorna Otis and by his great grandson, Dreden.
Mr. Wendell Lackie of Sussex, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 10, 2016 at the age of 79.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176).
A graveside service celebrating Wendell's life will be held from Pinegrove Cemetery on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 3:00pm. There will be a time of fellowship immediately following the service with the family at the Smiths Creek Hall.
