Obituary of Wilmot Allan Thorne

Wilmot “Willy” Thorne was born in Saint John May 31, 1920, he was the son of the late Bruce Wilmot Thorne and Jessie May (Foster) Thorne. Willy worked several years as a Welder for the Saint John Drydock before retiring. He is survived by his brother John Thorne (Jack) of Gagetown, several nieces and nephews; many close friends and his homecare worker Linda Payne. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8. The Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 will hold a tribute Friday evening at 5:45pm. A service celebrating Mr. Thorne’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00am. Mr. Wilmot Allan Thorne of Sussex passed away at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 13, 2016 at the age of 95.
