Obituary of Donald McFarlane
Mr. Donald McFarlane of Dutch Valley passed away on March 10, 2011 at the age of 82. He was the son of the late John and Hazel (Arnold) McFarlane and was the husband of the late Phyllis (Dunfield) McFarlane who passed away in 2010.
Phyllis and Donnie had several cats and dogs as their family pets. They had several ponies and gave pony rides at many local fairs during the 1950's and showed pinto horses at horse shows in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI during the 1960's and 70's. They also owned the first complete Silver Parade Saddles in the area.
Don was a member of the Sussex Home Show, he was a retired farmer, gravel Truck Driver and owned McFarlane Livestock Trucking.
Don was the last surviving member of his immediate family and is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy McCrea (Jackie) of Woodstock; his niece, Sherrey Zarins (Agris) and his nephew, Shawn McCrea (Jennifer); his great nephew, Riley and his great niece, Grace; as well as several cousins. Don is also survived by his special friends: Bill Anderson (Anne) of Dutch Valley and Libby Nash (Dave) of Sussex.
Don was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd and Lloyd's wife Ossie (Osla).
